Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction primarily software-defined and work towards a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings are built within a single day with minimal labour.
We’re a growing team (about 70 team members) of mostly engineers and technicians, coming from companies like Palantir, Qualcomm, Dyson, Shopify, Tesla, and Meta. It’s still the early days of building the company, and this is a unique opportunity to be an early employee in a high-growth, high-ambition startup environment. From Day 1, you’ll be able to work with an experienced founding team backed by top-tier investors.

About you and this role
We are looking for a Robot & People Operations Lead to join our team, bringing robots and automation to the construction industry to create affordable, beautiful, high-quality housing for everyone. In this role, you will orchestrate daily operations and robot readiness at our Amsterdam HQ, opposite Artis. You’ll be the person who ensures our construction robots, operators, and deployment kits are always ready. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role at the core of how we scale.
You’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, operations, and manufacturing, responsible for the planning, processes, and day-to-day execution that keep robot builds running. Every build requires a working robot, trained operator, bricks and mortar, and a clean, prepped space — and you’ll be the one juggling those moving parts to keep throughput high and downtime low. You’ll be working with everyone, from engineers running R&D experiments, workshop technicians on maintenance and calibration, to onboarding our operators — owning the flow end-to-end to keep things moving without friction.
You design fail-proof systems, see around logistical corners, and won’t rest until every robot and operator is ready to go. That includes tracking readiness, spares, inventory flows, and ensuring things run on schedule. When plans fall apart (as they routinely do in construction), you stay calm, adapt quickly, and make a new one.
You’re analytical, proactive, and take initiative. You’re used to working independently and getting things done without needing direction. You think critically, prioritise, and bring order to chaos. You can manage projects, people, and parts in motion — and communicate clearly under pressure.
What you’ll be working on
Stage & ship the fleet, build deployment kits (robots, spares, tools, docs), book transport, and close the loop with arrival check-ins so every site starts Day 0 fully loaded.
Run the test facility, schedule validation builds, execute preventive maintenance, and sign off robots as “green-go” before they leave, and again when they return.
Own inventory & tooling, keep real-time stock of consumables and critical spares, and drive re-order logic so we never wait for parts.
Directly manage the robot operators that are rotating through the office.
Set the absolute highest standards around safety, cleanliness, and processes here–things that should come naturally to you.
Coordinate repairs & swap-outs, diagnose issues remotely, expedite parts, and arrange on-site swaps with Operators so downtime stays near zero.
Keep HQ mission-ready, install new rigs or utilities, manage waste streams, and ensure the space stays safe, tidy, and inspection-ready.
What we are looking for
2–4 years’ experience in an analyst, coordination, or operations role — ideally in manufacturing, hardware, e-mobility, logistics, or a fast-paced scale-up
Comfortable using spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for tracking, scheduling, or maintenance
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Proactive and hands-on — you take ownership and make things happen in a startup environment, with no job too big or too small for you
Clear communicator in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a plus
Reliable, resourceful, and quick on your feet — you solve problems calmly when things go wrong
