About the role:
We are looking for Android Engineer to join our mobile application development team:
FareHarbor, a Booking Holding Company, is looking for full time software engineers to join our Engineering teams in Amsterdam, with a focus on solving Product Teams shared challenges, delivering reusable tools/components, and improving the developer productivity.
What you’ll do here:
- Work on the client applications supporting the product infrastructure that transfers billions of dollars annually.
- Design, implement, test, and support application services and UI components.
- Implement custom native user interfaces using the latest Kotlin programming techniques.
- Build reusable Android software components for interfacing with our back-end platforms.
- Develop and maintain automated tests.
- Work with other product team members to develop features and resolve issues.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Write technical documentation for developers.
Requirements:
- Be proficient with Kotlin and Java programming languages.
- Have experience working with the following technologies stack:
- Android Studio IDE;
- Gradle;
- WebKit / ChromeTabs;
- Koin DI framework;
- Jetpack Compose;
- Async operations and concurrency;
- MVC / MVP / MVVM design patterns;
- GooglePlay services and frameworks;
- Localisation API and tools;
- Persistency storage frameworks (Room, Realm or similar);
- Have experience working with Analytics tools, defining product events, and building reports/monitors for the product.
- Have experience with process automation through script writing (build / test / linting / code generation).
- Have experience working with RESTful APIs.
- Be passionate about getting things right and revisiting prior design decisions.
General requirements:
- Have 3+ years experience working with a production codebase and mission-critical systems
- Have experience gathering requirements, working with technical specifications, testing, and debugging.
- Have experience tackling performance and scalability challenges.
- Have strong collaboration and communication skills
- Be eager to learn whatever necessary to tackle problems head-on.
- Be passionate about getting things right.
- Adaptable, proactive, and willing to own and take responsibility.
- Be comfortable with a fast-paced startup environment.
- Be open to agile development methodologies.
