Job summary
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, extremely accurate and self-driven colleague to join our Accounts Receivable team. As Accounts Receivable Accountant you will be part of the Finance Operations team located in Amsterdam. You will be responsible for a variety of Operational Accounts Receivable duties, such as customer invoicing, bank reconciliation, customer Masterdata and Credit Collections. You are a main point of contact for our customers in terms of their invoices and work very closely with Sales team to ensure on time Billing & Cash Collections. Additionally you work closely with management and lead enhancement projects on AR processes.
The team is composed of 12 persons and is in charge of incoming cash flow by overseeing customer billing and payment collection processes.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensures customer invoices are processed accurately and in time
- Reconciliation of bank statements, as well as reconciliation of other methods of payment
- Daily payment allocation and invoice settlement
- Identifies and highlights credit notes and write-off concerns
- Processes daily accounts receivable by monitoring and collecting overdue debtors; actions on significant risk issues and minimizes DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)
- Creates and maintains customer master data
- Escalates issues promptly (dispute management)
- Proactively engages with internal departments for the resolution of customer queries
- Performs Month end closing activities & reconciliations
- Prepares monthly statements for customers
- Develops and maintain professional working relationships with customers, colleagues and other internal departments
- Supports Management at all times to enable the Finance Function achieves its goals and objectives
- Provides reporting when needed
- Analyzes data and identify trends
- Assists in internal and external financial audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls, procedures and policies
- Leads projects on optimization of AR processes
- Liaison with OnGuard and expert on Euronext CRM tool
- Key User on AR processes, working on system upgrades
Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in Accounts Receivable
- 3+ years’ experience in Credit Collections
- Hands-on experience with a world-class ERP system—MS Dynamics a plus
Education and Knowledge
- Clear understanding and solid experience on Order-to-Cash process
- Excellent English skills (written and spoken), French or Dutch (written and spoken) a plus
- Advanced in Excel
