Xu Noodle Bar is a family owned business in the city Eindhoven and Tilburg. We offer a variety of Asian dishes. From homemade noodle soups, fried noodles, rice dishes to streetfood like dumplings.
A workday as Kitchen Hero (especially a grill-master)
Coming in at 16:40 for a shift that starts at 16:45. Saying hi to all your awesome co-workers, putting all your stuff in the wardrobe, doing a quick pee and put on your work-shirt. At 16:45 you start preparing your own station (noodles/grill or sides). You check with the kitchen head if it's going to get busy and anticipate on that. Also double checking the food quality. You know the concept of "FIFO" (First In First Out).
Is it time to open the restaurant? Put your Ninja suit on and LET'S GET IT!
17:00 - The orders are slowly coming in. You communicate with your fellow kitchen heroes how to deal with the tickets. Ask each other what you need, which tickets are done and which tickets need to make together with the maindish or which tickets are for take-away.
18:15 - RUSH HOUR INCOMING! You stay calm and know how to handle the many tickets. During stress you still communicate with others and won't hesitate to ask for help when it's really needed.
20:00 - Time to tidy up a little and clean!
20:30/21:00 - Last round is done! LET'S CLEAN THIS SH*T! As a team you do everything on the closing checklist and double check each other if everything is done correctly.
21:45-22:00 - READY! Nailed it as a team and the kitchen is ready for tomorrow again!
*At 15:00 we are opening the kitchen. If you eventually want longer shifts and responsibility, this is also a possibility in consideration.
What kind of super power do you need?
Well, first you should be able to handle the stress when it's getting busy in the evening. Secondly, multitasking should be easy for you: frying something and in the mean time checking the new tickets and garnishing the dishes. Also having some kungfu skills so you are finished on time with cleaning the kitchen.
Some working experience in the kitchen environment would be recommended like basis cooking skills and holding a knife.
What are we also looking for:
- Have fun while working under stress (it's not always easy)
- Quick learner
- Be alert when there is a allergic requirement asked
- At least 8 hours (2 shifts) available per week and minimum available 2 days in the weekend
- Always in the mood to cook the most delicious dishes!
