What you will do:
As our future Import and Export Associate Manager you will be responsible for various aspects of the import/export process throughout the EMEA region, while ensuring compliance with EU Customs law. You will play a key role in cross functional projects/initiatives, providing advisory support to the business concerning regional trade implications.
Most importantly, as the People Manager of direct reports you will have the mission of promoting a safe and engaging work environment according to Stryker’s leadership expectations, missions, and values.
- You will develop and implements local SOPs, WIs, and KPIs to ensure effective internal controls and quality standards.
- As a Team Manager you will be hiring, coaching, counseling, providing technical assistance to your team, communicating company policies, following the performance, and proceeding with employee engagement actions plans if needed.
- You will review current activities and processes. Identify appropriate course of action for continuous improvement of processes and data quality.
- You will work to improve legal compliance and provide import/export administration and control within government rules and regulations (i.e. BTIs).
- You will partner with inside and outside legal counsel to prepare data for appropriate filings related to Customs and Other Governmental Agencies related to Trade Compliance.
- You will work with, where applicable, the Ministry of Health, Customs, Chamber of Commerce, and other government agencies to improve compliance and product flow.
- You will be participating in cross divisional projects/initiatives.
- You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across various departments, including procurement, sales, legal, finance and logistics, to align global trade operations with business goals and support strategic initiatives.
Your profile
- You have an academic degree in international trade, customs affairs or equivalent.
- You have minimum +6 years of experience in trade compliance or international logistics preferably.
- You have ideally +2 years of people management experience as supervisor, team lead, team coordinator or other.
- You have excellent knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).
- You have a proficient knowledge of customs procedures and authorizations (i.e. IP, AEO, etc.).
- You have basic knowledge on tax implications on imports/exports.
- You have experience with customs audits.
- You have experience in project management and SAP or other ERP.
