We are looking for a dedicated and ambitious individual to join our team as the Director of Biopharma Sales. You will have a meaningful role in crafting the future of our sales strategy and driving the success of our biopharma division.
The Details...
The Biopharma Sales Director will be accountable for agreeing and delivering the revenue targets within ONT's Biopharma space. This involves a deep understanding of the evolving genetics and healthcare marketplace and competitive activity. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate the capability and capacity to anticipate and prepare for trends, set a clear vision of where the Biopharma sector is heading and how it should be responding to or shaping market conditions. The role is key critical to business success; the Sales Director is responsible and accountable for critical decisions that impact the overall business strategically.

1: Vision, Strategy and Direction
- Anticipating key industry trends within Biopharma and preparing for them by developing a clear vision
- Developing and implementing strategies to drive this vision

- Leading the team in effectively using company processes, tools, and resources optimally to contribute to overall sales outcomes
- Developing your people using key processes (including mentoring) and tools to ensure outstanding opportunities, a great talent pipeline, and a healthy sales organization
3: Achieving the Business Objective
- Setting clear, stretch but achievable goals for your sales teams that will exceed the stated business objective
- Involving people and teams in finding new ways to achieve agreed goals
- Encouraging and rewarding cooperation within and between teams
- Focusing on getting things done by managing the political landscape where necessary
- Encouraging others to take qualified risks where necessary
- Not betraying trust and treating confidential information professionally
- Checking that sales objectives are aligned to business strategy and reconfiguring if needed
What We're Looking For...
- BSc/MSc or PhD, or equivalent experience (ideally the life sciences, genetics, and genomics)
- Prior sales experience or working with sales channel partners to accelerate product adoption in the Biopharma market
- Experience in mentoring individuals within a commercial team (direct or indirect)
- Experience in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Experience working with research/life science customers and understanding of these sectors.
- Understanding of current DNA sequencing technologies and their application
- Proficient in English (both verbal and written)
- Strong communication skills, with a positive can-do attitude and highly self-motivated
