About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on and collaborative Finance Director for our EMEA region. You’ll be based in our Amsterdam office and responsible for our FP&A and operational accounting for our three legal entities: the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK.
You will manage a finance team of 5.5 FTE, and report directly to the General Manager EMEA, with a functional reporting line to the Group CFO based in Los Angeles.
In addition to finance, you will also oversee HR (1 FTE) and IT (1 FTE) in the region, who each have a functional line to HQ in LA.
You are a proactive and communicative finance leader with a strong background in financial operations, preferably within footwear, retail, or e-commerce. You thrive in fast-paced, international environments and enjoy working cross-functionally with teams across regions and time zones.
The Impact You'll Make
- Lead day-to-day management of FP&A and operational finance functions
- Act as a member of the EMEA Management Team
- Manage the Finance team (2 FP&A, 2 AR, 1 AP, 1 Finance Specialist)
- Oversee HR and IT (with functional reporting to HQ)
- Supervise annual financial statements and audits (Netherlands, Germany, UK)
- Lead the budgeting and reforecasting process
- Ensure timely and accurate month-, quarter-, and year-end closings in compliance with Dutch GAAP
- Oversee preparation of all tax filings (CIT, VAT, duties) in collaboration with external parties
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
- Partner with the Group CFO and EMEA GM to assess financial risks and operational impacts
- Support special projects and global initiatives with financial insights
- Prepare yearly transfer pricing documentation
- Contribute to the annual GRS sustainability audit
- Identify process improvements for cost efficiency and reporting accuracy
- Ensure finance operations support timely credit issuance and vendor payments
- Review and sign vendor and employment contracts in collaboration with Legal
- Approve vendor and salary payments
- Lead EMEA pension plan transition in line with 2026 legislation
- Coordinate dividend payments in compliance with local law
- Supervise cashflow management
What you Bring
- Hands-on mentality with a proactive approach

- Proven experience in accounting and FP&A operations
- Ability to collaborate at a strategic level across departments
- Familiarity with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting environments
- Strong SAP (FI/CO) experience preferred
- Advanced Excel and financial systems skills
- Able to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong team player with a problem-solving mindset
- Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- RA (CPA) certification preferred
- Experience with Big 4 and controllership roles is a plus
- Strong SAP FI/CO knowledge and understanding of financial master data
- Experience in the fashion/footwear industry preferred
- Fluent in English; an additional language (French, German, Dutch) is a plus
