Role Description:
Supports the design, implementation, and tracking of risk analytics and exposure management for all protection products globally. Works with internal data teams and the manager to build, monitor and explain risk model performance.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Costing & Modelling
Support model calibration and scenario design
Query data sources (SQL, dashboards)
Conduct exploratory analysis and loss-ratio deep dives
Document methodologies and prepare update notes
Monitoring & Stress Testing
Build and maintain monitoring dashboards
Assist in scenario construction and capital impact estimation
Prepare variance summaries and trend reports
Reinsurance & Capital Strategy
Support data prep and analysis for placement scenarios
Contribute to benchmarking and modelling of retention levels
Maintain document versions and meeting notes
Governance & Process
Maintain model and documentation libraries
Track approvals, feedback, and model changes
Coordinate risk input into product and ops meetings
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a key contributor in day-to-day interactions with Data Science, Finance, Analytics, and Pricing
Develop clear, data-backed content for leadership updates, steering packs, and working groups
Support the preparation of talking points, scenario analysis, and risk insights for senior stakeholders
Build cross-functional credibility through consistent, well-structured contributions
Learning & Growth
Operate as an independent contributor with full ownership of models, analyses, and risk insights
Build credibility across functions through subject matter expertise and high-quality execution
Receive targeted mentorship from senior risk leaders while driving your own development path
Lead discrete projects and represent the risk perspective confidently with cross-functional stakeholders
Qualifications & Skills
Technical Skills
Working knowledge of GLMs or other pricing techniques
SQL or other data tools preferred; strong Excel required
Willing to learn model interrogation and stress testing methodology
Risk Transfer Exposure
Exposure to reinsurance or risk financing is a plus
Support data prep and research for transfer strategies
Process & Governance
Detail-oriented; supports documentation and QA
Assists in maintaining control logs and governance records
Cross-Market Exposure
Interest in learning global market practices
Able to research and summarise differences in local norms
Communication & Influence
Comfortable presenting to technical audiences
Developing confidence in stakeholder interactions and narrative building
Ownership & Impact
Takes initiative within defined workstreams
Seeks ownership of distinct deliverables and development opportunities

Education & Knowledge
4+years in actuarial or analytical role, ideally in insurance or risk modelling
Experience with protection, assistance or high-volume claim products a plus
Bachelor's degree
Fully or Part qualified Actuary (e.g. part-qualified FIA, ASA/ACAS) or equivalent analytical designation
