Purpose, fun part and challenges of this role
The IT Projects & Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of our
day-to-day IT operations and supporting the delivery of key systems and digital projects.
The fun part of this role is working at the intersection of project delivery, support, and
coordination - helping staff across continents do their work more effectively, while supporting
practical, user-friendly improvements to systems and processes.
You will be challenged by the need to keep things running while helping us improve, simplify
and document a digital ecosystem that includes Google Workspace, Salesforce, and multiple vendors. You’ll also support the coordination of external consultants, making sure their work lands well and supports lasting improvements.
In this role, your greatest success will be that our IT projects have landed well, staff feel
supported, and our internal capacity has grown to manage operations with increased
autonomy.
The Team
This role works closely with our IT Officer and part-time Salesforce Specialist, and interacts regularly with external vendors and consultants.
The team is managed by the Executive Director.

Result areas and core activities
Your job is to keep IT operations running smoothly while coordinating delivery of digital projects.
To do this you will:
- Manage ongoing IT projects (e.g. CRM, collaboration tools), ensuring delivery on time
and budget; - Supervise and support the IT Officer and part-time Salesforce Specialist;
- Coordinate with external IT support providers (including NextNovate) to resolve issues
and track SLAs; - Coordinate and manage project consultants, ensuring alignment with project timelines,
deliverables, and internal priorities; - Oversee user onboarding, incident escalation, and help improve documentation and
handover; - Maintain oversight of licenses, vendors, and digital tools across departments;
- Work closely with a digital transformation consultant to support planning, handover, and
simplification of systems and processes.
Knowledge and experience
The ideal candidate will be committed to the mission and vision of Terre des Hommes Netherlands and has a proven track record in IT project delivery and operational support.
More specifically:
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, project coordination, or systems
implementation roles; - Relevant academic qualifications in IT, Information Systems, or a related field;
- Experience managing external IT providers and working with tools such as Google
Workspace and Salesforce; - Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a multicultural, distributed team environment;
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset and strong communication skills;
- Collaborative and organised, with attention to detail and a service-oriented attitude;
- Fluent in English (Dutch is an asset but not required);
- Must have the existing right to live and work in the Netherlands, TdH NL is unable to
support visas or relocation.

- This is a 1-year fixed-term contract. The role is designed to support the organisation
through a period of digital transition and project implementation, and is not expected to
be extended. - The salary scale for this job is scale 11 and depending on experience and seniority the
salary ranges between €4293 and €5608 gross per month based on a full time (36 hrs)
contract - We offer a 36 hour contract which in our organisation equals a full time workweek.
The pro of this is that one can work 4 x 9 and have one day per week off while still
having a full time contract. You may spread the hours over the week matching your
preference, in agreement with your manager; - We work hybrid, so 50% office and 50% from home. Very flexible and with a positive
effect on your work life balance; - An office in the thriving heart of The Hague, city of international human rights and
political capital. - 25 days of paid leave per year on a full time employment basis, if part time, days pro
rata; - We are a firm supporter of the environment and offer a commuting allowance for the
kilometres you’d make by bike or get you a Dutch Railways NS Card or your work travel; - Our pension scheme is with ASR, and Terre des Hommes Netherlands bears the main
part of the pension contribution. - Our new hires receive a one-off financial compensation for the purchase or the design
