Your role
This role is an integral part of Digital Realty’s EMEA Finance Operations team and will play a pivotal role in achieving the EMEA Finance Ops team’s objectives and deliverables. The primary responsibility of the position is to own the accounting for certain functional accounting areas such as bank reconciliations, fixed assets and VAT reporting for a portfolio of ledgers and legal entities within the EMEA business. This role will assist with other accounting related tasks such month end closing entries and group reporting under US GAAP, preparation of local statutory financial statements and support with audits.
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly & annual group reporting under US-GAAP for a portfolio of entities
- Prepare bank reconciliations on various legal entities and /or properties
- Create, maintain and reconcile fixed asset subledgers
- Participate in the preparation of VAT reporting
- Support a number of property accountants in other functional areas, such as construction accounting, fixed assets, corporate tax, etc.
- Assist with the audit for Group purposes as well as the audit of the local Financial statements for a number of entities across Europe
- Participate on standardisation of processes across the P2P, O2C and R2R functions, working with colleagues in other teams
- Contribute to the accounting and internal control processes and the preparation of accurate financial statements
- Work on process standardization and improvement projects and other finance project
What you’ll need
- 2-3 years’ experience in similar roles, in a multi-national environment.
- Solid US-GAAP & local GAAP
- knowledge on local French taxes would be a plus
- Part-qualified accountant, while not essential, is an advantage
- Understanding & working knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley preferable
- Strong systems knowledge and intermediate/advanced Excel skills are required
- Real estate accounting skills, knowledge of financial applications, concepts and theories are advantages
- Fluent in English and French
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Ability to communicate well with varying level of stakeholders
