In this position, you are jointly responsible for the financial policy of the organization and you are responsible for the quality of the financial information for both the business units and the WFSR as a whole. You will be responsible for the implementation of WFSR's entire planning and control cycle, consisting of three business units and three departments, with a total turnover of 58 million and over 400 employees.
In addition, you lead a team of finance professionals who, together with you, are responsible for the above tasks and have expertise in both business control and project control. WFSR is an organization with a wide variety of projects, in which the research tasks in the field of food safety that WFSR carries out on behalf of the government. As F&C manager, you are responsible for drawing up the budget, year-end closing and monthly reports and the associated analyses. You supervise the annual (project) audits and are responsible for timely implementation. You closely monitor financial progress, identify risks and proactively come up with recommendations. At a strategic level, you will advise the director of WFSR.

The F&C department of WFSR consists of two teams: business control and project control. The financial administration is provided from an SSC. Around eight colleagues in your team work on business control and project control.
As F&C manager, you are accountable to the director of WFSR and you have functional lines with the director of F&C WUR, business unit managers of WFSR and other heads of staff. - you are a solid sparring partner who ensures a good connection and cooperation within the F&C team in an inspiring way. On the other hand, you provide clear advice and good information from F&C to the organization;
- you facilitate your team to get the best out of themselves;
- you will be part of the team of heads of staff (operations team) and will actively contribute to the development and implementation of new policy and operational management processes within WFSR and WUR;
- you will participate in regular WUR controllers' meeting and from there actively contribute to WUR-wide financial developments (e.g. dashboard-based reporting, implementation of the budget tool, new project management system).

- an academic working and thinking level, with a completed MSc degree in Business Economics, Accountancy or a similar financial education and preferably with a completed RC degree;
- extensive experience as a business controller within a complex project organization;
- affinity with the domain of food safety is nice;
- you have experience in managing professionals. You will lead in an inspiring, connecting and coaching way and guide your employees in their professional development;
- you are analytically strong, have an independent way of thinking and your own ideas that you can also convey well to others;
- you have a helicopter view and at the same time an eye for detail and easily distinguish between main and side issues;
- you have good communication skills in both Dutch and English verbally and in writing. For this position, it concerns language level C1. If you do not yet have this level, we will of course help you and you can contact our language center Wageningen in'to Language.
