About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Manager of our Security and IT teams to lead the tactical execution of our security program and oversee our internal IT support operations.
In this hybrid role, you’ll manage a small but high-impact IT service desk team to ensure employees have exceptional IT support. As a highly technical professional with adept expertise in one or more Cyber Security domains, you will also be responsible for leading a team of Security Engineers to design, build, deliver, and maintain robust security software, tools, and automation that protect FareHarbor’s assets and contribute to our organizational security posture.
This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity engineering principles, secure software development practices, and relevant technologies. Additionally, strong people leadership skills will be needed to drive team performance, development, and operational excellence in solution development.
The Manager, Security & IT will collaborate with product Managers, engineering teams, and security stakeholders to deliver the security roadmap and ensure the team's developed software and automation are effective, secure, and adhere to SLAs. The person in this role will balance project delivery with risk to make informed trade-off decisions, and maintain healthy runtime operations for software developed by the team.
As part of the Booking Holdings family of brands, much of our IT and Security programs overlap with our sister companies. This role requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to align with external stakeholders to be an effective bridge between brands. You’ll be instrumental in building Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that clarify ownership between teams, reduce friction, and ensure both IT and security initiatives are well-coordinated both within FareHarbor, and with our parent company. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys solving practical technical problems, driving process maturity, and managing a team across two vital functions.
What you’ll do here:
- Lead and develop the IT service desk team to deliver excellent technical support for all employees.
- Lead and manage the security engineering team in implementing and maintaining security controls, tools, and monitoring practices.
- Own the tactical execution of the company’s security program and operational support plan, including incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance support.
- Partner with product Managers, engineering manager, sister brand’s security team and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of the roadmap, identifying resourcing needs, technical scope and complexity, and critical risks and dependencies.
- Oversee the design, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of robust security solutions, services, and capabilities that meet business objectives and customer value.
- Ensure adherence to secure coding standards, testing practices, and quality requirements for all developed software.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement within the team by identifying opportunities for efficiency in security operations. Champion the adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, Advanced Analytics, Automation) to enhance team-developed security tools and oversee the rollout of improved cybersecurity processes and engineering best practices related to secure software development.
- Act as an Advanced Subject Matter Expert in relevant cybersecurity domains and secure software development. Provide technical leadership in evaluating security technologies, contributing to security architecture discussions for developed tools, and guiding the team on complex engineering challenges, including secure software design and implementation
- Promote knowledge sharing and technical skill development within the cybersecurity teams
- Create and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in collaboration with our parent company to define responsibilities and streamline workflows across IT and security.
- Ensure timely resolution of IT tickets and escalation of critical issues, maintaining high levels of user satisfaction.
- Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including access provisioning and hardware allocation.
- Coordinate IT asset inventory, software licensing, and procurement.
- Monitor and maintain endpoint security tools, SSO configurations, and mobile device management (MDM) systems.
- Support internal audits, risk assessments, and policy documentation as part of the broader security compliance framework.
- Stay current with evolving IT and security trends, driving improvements where appropriate.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, information security, or a related field, including 2+ years in a people management role.
- Security Engineering (Domain Specific): Expertise as an Advanced Subject Matter Expert (SME), with a focus on domain-specific areas like Application Security, Cloud Security, Data security, Security Automation, or Threat Detection Engineering.
- Strong technical foundation across IT infrastructure, endpoint management, identity and access management, and security best practices.
- Demonstrated experience managing helpdesk/support teams and security professionals.
- Proven ability to develop, document, and operationalize SOPs in collaboration with cross-functional or external teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Okta , MDM solutions , and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Zendesk).
- Experience achieving and maintaining SOC 2 Type II certification, and adhering to NIST guidelines
- Experience working in organizations with a parent/subsidiary structure is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, ITIL) are a bonus but not required.
