MEDITERENA B.V. is seeking a highly experienced Production Manager to lead the end-to-end operations of its sushi production facility. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of production while ensuring efficiency, adherence to food safety and quality standards, compliance with Dutch regulatory authorities, and coordination with suppliers and logistics partners. The candidate must also demonstrate flexibility in adapting to new assignments and work shifts as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the daily operations of the production facility, including production, maintenance, hygiene, and safety.
· Oversee and optimize production planning to ensure timely output aligned with sales forecasts and customer requirements.
· Implement and maintain robust food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, ISO/FSSC, IFS, and BRC standards.
· Ensure full compliance with Dutch food safety laws and regulatory authorities such as NVWA and Warenwet.
· Coordinate supplier management, raw material sourcing, and third-party logistics to support seamless operations.
· Manage and motivate cross-functional teams across production, QA/QC, maintenance, and logistics.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on cost reduction, process efficiency, and lean manufacturing practices.
· Prepare and present operational performance reports; identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
· Remain flexible to undertake new assignments and work shifts as business needs evolve.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in chilled or ready-to-eat (RTE) products.
· Strong knowledge and practical experience with Dutch food regulatory compliance and safety protocols.
· Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and staff development capabilities.
· Fluent in both Dutch and English (spoken and written).
· Experience with Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) technology is a strong advantage.
