The production department of Strohm is completing its transition from a manufacturing scale-up to a robust and mature high-capacity manufacturing company. Role Summary
As Production Manager at Strohm you are accountable for the entire operation of pipe production and pipe completion. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will oversee the management, planning, and coordination of all production activities, to always ensure high performance and production throughout the manufacturing and assembly processes.
Your primary focus lies on safety, quality and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for setting production targets and KPIs, monitoring performance, steer on the KPIs and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize our operations.
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in driving innovation and implementing new technologies to enhance our production capabilities. Your strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail will be essential in identifying and addressing any production-related challenges.

This position is based in IJmuiden, where Strohm's state-of-the-art production facility is located. Essential Responsibilities
- Safety: Lead and further develop the safety culture within the production facility. Ensure that employees can perform their duties safely every day;
- Production Management: Oversee the operational performance of production lines and work centres, ensuring required output, revenue, quality targets, and schedules are met;
- Operational Oversight: Organize and optimize daily production activities. Chairs weekly production planning meetings with all internal stakeholders;
- Reporting: Provide weekly progress reports on OEE, revenue, and production to the management team;
- Operational Excellence: Drive the transition to a more efficient production environment, implement Performance Management and 5S, and coach direct reports. Lead performance meetings and improve processes;
- Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with company procedures and keep them up to date;
- Resource Allocation: Efficiently utilize resources and maximize production assets;
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and optimize production methods for maximum efficiency and performance. Chair the weekly performance management meeting. Sponsor of Improvement Projects;
- Personnel Management: Supervise and evaluate staff, including recruiting and onboarding new employees;
- Talent management: you inspire people and develop them;
- Risk Management: Monitor operations and implement corrective actions, including lessons learned and risk assessments;
- Production capability: Responsible for the capability of the production lines, ensuring the requirements are met, identify risks and required improvements or modifications to the production line equipment and act as internal customer to the CAPEX teams;
- CAPEX Projects: Support CAPEX teams and serve as the operational point of contact for inquiries;
- Budget Management: Manage and control the production OPEX budget, including reporting and forecasting expenditures;
- Additional Tasks: Perform other business-related activities as directed by the Operations Director.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience with operational excellence (performance management, continuous improvement, working with standards, 5S, Kaizen, etc);
- Technical BSc or MSc degree;
- Dutch and English speaking and writing;
- At least 8 years’ experience in a production / manufacturing environment;
- Experience mix between corporate and entrepreneurial environment;
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills;
- A people manager, able to build strong production teams while having the technical knowledge and background to analyze and manage complex production processes, plannings, forecasts and associated tools and models;
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management skills;
- Experience with change management and strong influencing skills, particularly with production staff and internal stakeholders;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to operate at all levels within the organization;
- A team player who collaborates well across business operations and builds strong relationships;
- Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate teams and drive quality, productivity and customer focus;
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

Direct reports
The Production Manager leads a team of more than 90 people, with direct reports being the Team Lead Production Engineering, the Team Lead Planning & Work Preparation, the Pipe Production Team Lead and the Pipe Completion Team Lead. From the initial start to final delivery, these teams execute the main manufacturing steps from extrusion, winding, spooling, fitting & ancillary assembly, pressure testing, quality testing up to final delivery.
