Project Officer – Human Rights Defense Curaçao
Human Rights Defense Curaçao (HRDC) is a non-governmental organization, working for the protection and promotion of human rights of all inhabitants of Curaçao. Position Description
We are growing! HRDC is seeking a Project Officer to support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned projects. You will work closely with a team of dedicated colleagues and report directly to the Director. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, is passionate about human rights, and has strong organizational and communication skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to improving respect for human rights for all people in Curaçao
- Plan, monitor and report on the projects assigned to you
- Create and facilitate project implementation plans that outline clear timelines, deliverables, and measurable outcomes.
- Prepare narrative reports for project donors, including budget tracking.
- Coordinate and arrange logistics for trainings, meetings, and workshops, including managing invitations, venue, participants travel and accommodation
- Communicate and report effectively and in a timely manner with donors, partners, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or University degree in a relevant discipline
- Excellent writing and editing skills, particularly for donor reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically word and excel,
- Affinity with the cause of human rights and the local culture of Curaçao
- Excellent communication skills in English, Dutch, Papiamentu (Spanish is desirable).
- Strong organizational, administrative, and planning skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment (not a 9-5 attitude)
