Your position
The Researcher Quantitative Genetics is a member of our Genetics & Breeding team who will perform research activities that contribute to the advancement of commercial crop breeding programs. In this role, you will work on applied and innovative projects which focus on analyzing genetic and phenotypic data using a range of (proprietary) methods and tools to identify superior individuals for selected traits. You will contribute to realizing the objectives of Genetwister's R&D program, which aims to develop novel tools and methods and you may be involved in collaboration projects with academia. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality research results that contribute to the success of our clients’ breeding programs and proactively contribute new project ideas. You will work closely with colleagues from the Genomics, Bioinformatics & Software Development teams.
Your profile
- Master's degree with at least three year work experience or a PhD degree in plant breeding
- A keen interest in bridging science and application
- A good understanding of, and hands-on experience with applying quantitative genetic principles and methods including linkage maps, QTL- and association studies, Genomic Selection and modelling GxE interactions
- Proficient in statistical programming languages like R, to perform hands on data analyses
- Fluent in English and professional communication skills
- Well-organized, accurate and a strong team player
