We are looking for you, Senior Manager, TA Controls and Data Management to join our Turnaround Competence Center, as part of the Refining Competence Center at our Porvoo, Singapore or Rotterdam-Maasvlakte locations (the position is a global role).
In your role you will focus on defining, improving and aligning turnaround (TA) Controls (cost controls and scheduling) practices between our production sites, managing and analysing TA benchmarking data, and participating in independent TA compliance monitoring and assurance in accordance with the Neste TA Governance Principle. The role collaborates with the other TA Competence Center and Refining Competence Center functions to define and implement global improvement initiatives. The position is located at one of Neste production locations, i.e. Porvoo (FI), Rotterdam-Maasvlakte (NL) or Singapore. Some travelling is expected due to the global nature of the role.

- Define standardised TA Controls requirements, consistent with the Neste TA Governance Principle, work practices and long range plan, taking into account TA-specific strategies and premises. Provide support to implement these requirements
- Enhance TA Controls best practices in close collaboration with key business stakeholders
- Build and facilitate the TA Scheduling and Cost Controls communities of practice CoPs
- Assess site TA Controls procedures and deliverables and identify global improvements. Provide support to TA Teams to implement related recommendations
- Contribute to the Site TA Maturity Roadmaps to assess TA Controls topics and develop improvement plans
- Provide support/coaching to TA teams for planning and executing TA’s
- Support integrated TA activities to ensure early alignment with Investment Projects and to create an accurate integrated TA schedule and cost estimate
- Gather and maintain global TA benchmarking data for reporting. Identify trends to improve cost and schedule competitiveness and predictability
- Develop standardised internal benchmarking methodologies
- Maintain a global lessons learned database for TA Controls inputs and assist in maintaining TA risk and lessons learned registers
- Utilize TA benchmarking for competitive target-setting to improve overall TA performance
- Track industry developments in relevant technologies and strategies to assess potential value for Neste TAs
- Together with the colleagues in the Refining Competence Centre, analyzing & improving the overall performance of Neste assets by prioritizing common plans together with business stakeholders.
Keys to success in this role
- At least 10 years of experience in TA controls with a focus on cost estimating, scheduling and data management, whilst demonstrating a strong understanding of TA management
- Relevant technical degree, or technical qualification e.g. engineering, project management, cost engineering, finance, quantity surveying or similar
- Safety-first mindset and high commitment to safety standards
- Relevant TA Controls experience (cost controls and scheduling), including knowhow of the requirements of TA Governance and TA work processes.
- Experience in a TA Controls team position
- Strong understanding of TA compliance, assurance and benchmarking, including TA data management
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and provide informed recommendations/proposals
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, corporate accounting and finance practices
- Relevant experience in competence development, consulting, change management and cross-functional facilitation is advantageous
- Ability to understand and translate key strategic decisions into tactical and operational plans
- Results-driven and business-oriented
- Proven skills in communication and leadership, incl. change leadership, cross-functional and cross-organisational facilitation and networking
- Proven ability to influence multiple levels of an organization
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Fluent spoken and written English
Other strengths we value
- Knowledge of SAP, TA management, work planning and scheduling tools (e.g. Roser, Primavera, Cleopatra)
- Use of AI tools (e.g. Gemini), advanced spreadsheet knowledge and database management, PowerBI
- Recognised project management professional (PMP) certification focusing on TA planning and budgeting, and/or recognised certified cost engineer or estimating professional certification
