Role Overview
We are looking for a Freelance Visual Merchandiser to conceptualize and implement visually compelling, brand-aligned installations throughout our Amsterdam boutique.
You will play a pivotal role in curating the in-store experience through styling, layout design, and visual storytelling, ensuring that every detail reflects the Millesime aesthetic.
This is a freelance, project-based opportunity, focused on the pre-opening phase of the store, scheduled for October 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute innovative visual merchandising strategies in line with brand identity
- Style mannequins, walls, racks, and in-store zones with curated vintage and luxury pieces
- Design and install eye-catching window displays and in-store focal points
- Ensure a cohesive visual flow across three floors, balancing aesthetic and commercial goals
- Collaborate with the creative, retail, and marketing teams to maintain visual consistency
- Apply storytelling, space planning, and color theory to elevate product presentation
- Prepare and finalize all visual installations before the grand opening
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Visual Merchandiser in the fashion, vintage, or luxury retail sectors
- Excellent sense of style, composition, detail, and spatial balance
- Passion for vintage fashion, sustainable design, and historical garments
- Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines under time-sensitive conditions
- Availability to work on-site in Amsterdam during the weeks prior to the opening
- Portfolio showcasing relevant visual merchandising work
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Background in fashion styling, set design, or art direction
- Fluency in Dutch and/or Italian
- Experience working with archival or one-of-a-kind garments
- Previous involvement in store openings or concept retail environments
