As a service Repair Technician, you will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining StoneAge rental equipment and customer-owned products in a way that makes our customers say, “Why would I choose anyone but StoneAge?”
You will also support the branch rental program by preparing rental equipment for customers and serving as a technician and demonstrator, primarily on-site. While this role is focused on in-branch work, there may occasionally be opportunities to assist with demonstrations or light field support when needed.
This role involves setting customers up for success by demonstrating how equipment works and providing support with technical issues, while promoting the safe and effective use of automated water jetting equipment.
Our ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, eager to learn new skills, works well in a team, and communicates confidently with customers. Additionally, as a Branch employee, you will be cross-trained in Order Fulfillment and Customer Service responsibilities.
This position reports to the Branch Operations Manager.
Essential Functions
- Interact with customers with professionalism during rental returns, maintenance demonstrations, repairs, and/or warranty requests.
- Ensure the customer is knowledgeable in the safe operation of rental equipment and that all manuals and training material are provided with the equipment.
- Repair and maintain StoneAge rental equipment, including receiving equipment back into rental inventory and reporting any missing items.
- Maintain rental inventory accuracy and provide feedback on component stock levels for service and repair.
- Complete the repair and replacement of rental equipment, ensuring items are presentable and ready for quick and easy customer transactions.
- Perform inventory operations including material receiving, cycle counting, and shipping activities as required.
- Process rental quotes and contracts.
- Provide feedback to the Branch Manager for improvements to the rental program.
- Provide feedback to Engineering regarding tool design, maintainability, and warranty issues.
- Teach customers how to properly repair tools, either in classroom-style training or through remote troubleshooting when necessary.
- Communicate schedule conflicts with the Branch Manager.
- Stay knowledgeable about new tool developments in preparation for repairs, maintenance, and warranty returns.
- Take ownership for all maintenance of branch equipment, including parts washer, manual lathe, bead blaster, and high-pressure pumps.
- Employ a strong continuous improvement mentality, constantly driving improvements in effectiveness and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with your team and with customers.
- Cooperate with safety regulations and comply with SIR (Stichting Industriële Reiniging) practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Branch Operations Manager.
- MBO niveau 3/4 (technische richting) or equivalent technical education.

- Knowledge of basic shop hand tools.
- Understanding of tool assembly, testing methods, best practices, sealant, torque specifications, and leak/pressure testing.
- Willingness to learn proper waterblast testing methods.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn inventory and quoting software.
- Completion of SIR training and safety regulations (mandatory).
- Basic English language competence, or willingness to learn.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Flexibility to perform tasks outside of standard responsibilities and occasional overtime during vacation coverage or peak periods.
- Must be able to lift heavy loads using proper lifting techniques as outlined in the StoneAge Employee Handbook.
