As part of its growth and development, CMA CGM Holland is looking for a Manager to join its Sales team, in the Short Sea Line (SSL) department.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sales Manager is a key player in driving business growth and building relationships with clients in the maritime industry. They lead a lively sales team, using their skills in negotiation, strategic planning, and sales operations to navigate the ins and outs of the shipping and logistics world. Their duties include handling accounts, putting in place effective sales strategies, and making sure the team excels through coaching and leadership.
The key responsibilities of the Sales Manager SSL are divided as such :
Manage the selling process to external customers, including pricing contract negotiations.
Maintain relationships with top accounts and participate in sales calls.
Identify account needs, opportunities, and key buying factors for existing customers, and formalize those into account plans and strategies.
Proactively search, qualify, develop, and engage in new customer relationships.
Develop local sales support tools and assist in building individual customer strategies, including the identification of up-selling opportunities.
Set goals with the team and track progress using KPIs, taking corrective action where necessary.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, ensuring communication and implementation within the team.
Manage and coach a team of individuals to optimal performance, including setting account strategies, creating account plans, proposal development, negotiation, and service delivery.
Understand ideal customers and how they relate to services.
Stay informed about market developments and apply these strategies during negotiations.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Proficiently communicates in both Dutch and English, written and spoken. Proficiency in another language is a plus.
Strong knowledge of Container/Shipping Line products and services, local market, competitors, and industry trends is preferred.
Have 5 to 8 years of experience in sales within an international B2B environment.
Experience managing and directing a sales team.
Outspoken and appreciative of networking.
