Join Specsavers as our new Data Protection and Privacy Advisor and help us safeguard the trust our customers place in us. This full-time role is based in one of our Northern Europe support offices—Copenhagen, Aalborg, Gothenburg, Oslo, Helsinki, or Maarssen.
Your role
As our Data Protection and Privacy Advisor, you’ll be a key member of our Data Protection team, supporting our stores and business functions across Northern Europe. You’ll advise on GDPR and global privacy laws, help shape our compliance documentation, and promote a culture of privacy across Specsavers.
Your key responsibilities include:
Advising stores and business units on privacy and data protection matters
Supporting data subject requests and privacy-related cases
Performing and evaluating Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
Developing training and awareness materials
Engaging with stakeholders across the business and externally
Supporting regulatory inspections and audits
Promoting good information handling practices
You’ll report to the Head of Legal Data Protection NE, and occasional travel is expected.

Your qualifications
You’re a legal or regulatory professional with a passion for privacy and a pragmatic approach to compliance. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
2+ years’ experience in data protection/privacy work
Strong understanding of GDPR and global privacy laws
Experience drafting privacy statements, policies, and handling DSARs
Experience performing risk assessments and DPIAs
Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement
Ability to work independently and with attention to detail
Fluency in English; knowledge of a Nordic language is a plus
On a personal level, you’re structured, curious, and confident in presenting to all levels of staff
Your development
Within 3 months, you’ll:
Be onboarded and introduced to key stakeholders
Understand Specsavers’ privacy framework
Support stores and business units with privacy queries
Within 6–12 months, you’ll:
Lead DPIAs and privacy initiatives
Be a go-to person for privacy advice in NE
Deliver training and awareness sessions
Further development:
