Tommy Jeans Denim Team
Join our Tommy Jeans Denim Design Team in Amsterdam, at our European headquarters, and take on one of the most exciting roles in the company. As a Men’s Denim Designer, you’ll play a key role in defining the style and essence of Tommy Jeans’ key product category—denim. Reporting to the Denim Design Director, you’ll collaborate with a team of denim experts across design, development, and merchandising to deliver four complete seasonal collections each year. You’ll also partner closely with the Tommy Jeans Men’s Design team to ensure the denim collection reflects the brand’s DNA, inspiration, and distinctive design details. This is your opportunity to grow and create for one of the world’s most iconic fashion brands.
The Position
Research global denim trends and market insights that feed into our brand DNA.
Design a commercially strong denim collection—including pants, shorts, shirts, and jackets—that brings a youthful, modern edge to Tommy’s preppy style.
Develop a keen eye for selecting fabrics, trims, washes, and finishes that complement our denim collection.
Collaborate closely with the Merchandising team to align with range plans and pricing targets, and to develop a denim matrix that serves the global market.
Partner with Wash Developers to craft authentic washes that embody the American heritage and align with the Tommy Jeans identity.
Prepare comprehensive design sheets and tech packs, collaborate with Development and Technical teams to realize your vision through prototypes and fittings.
Work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines within the Divisional Calendar.
Analyze the competitive landscape through visual mapping to pinpoint category-specific opportunities.
Present the collection to key stakeholders for feedback and alignment.
Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fashion Design.
3–5 years of experience as a Men’s Denim Designer.
Strong passion for denim, with in-depth knowledge of denim fabrics, color treatments, textures, and wash techniques.
Highly developed eye for fits, silhouettes, and detailing, with the ability to translate well-considered ideas into commercially successful products.
Highly organized, enthusiastic, and adaptable to change in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop with excellent hand-drawing skills.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken (company’s working language).
Able to thrive in a fast-paced setting with a hands-on, proactive mindset.
Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
