About the team and the role
As Internal Communications Lead, you will be part of the HR team, a team of 5 specialists, and will report directly to the HR Director. This Amsterdam-based role is responsible for designing and delivering a best-in-class employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle - from onboarding to offboarding.
You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that our workplace, people processes, internal communications, and events all contribute to a cohesive, engaging, and inclusive employee experience.
Success as an Internal Communications Lead relies on three core skills: strategic storytelling to translate vision into clear messages, change communication to guide teams through rapid growth, and employee engagement to build culture and keep people motivated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive clear and transparent internal communication throughout transformation, ensuring employees receive timely, consistent, and engaging updates on organizational changes, HR initiatives, and cultural priorities.
Act as a trusted communications partner to leadership, crafting narratives that build understanding, reduce uncertainty, and strengthen trust during times of change.
- Connect workplace experience to people engagement and provide clear guidance to the workplace team.
- Shape meaningful employee experiences by planning and delivering events such as all-hands, cultural initiatives, and team-building activities that foster inclusion, connection, and resilience.
Enhance the employee journey by improving key lifecycle moments—onboarding, mobility, and offboarding—so they remain positive and supportive during organizational shifts.
Enable cross-functional alignment by working closely with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure communications and people programs reinforce business transformation goals.
Champion employee voice by supporting engagement and pulse surveys, analyzing feedback, and ensuring visible, credible follow-up actions.
Continuously innovate in internal communications and employee experience, applying best practices and new approaches to strengthen culture, belonging, and performance during the company’s transformation.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years in internal communications, employee experience, events, or HR operations, ideally within a fast-growing scale-up.
Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style across different channels (intranet, newsletters, Slack/Teams, town halls).
Experience organizing impactful events that reinforce culture and community.
Proficiency with HR systems, survey platforms, and collaboration tools.
Hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, combined with a strong understanding of organizational transformation processes and phases.
