About Delphy
Delphy is a global leader in agricultural innovation and consultancy, operating in over 60 countries with a team of more than 250 dedicated professionals. As part of the Peterson Solutions Group, Delphy combines deep sector expertise with a mission-driven approach to empower growers and agricultural enterprises worldwide.

Our core mission, “Make Growers Better,” drives everything we do—from cutting-edge research and training to hands-on consultancy and operational support. We serve a wide range of sectors including greenhouse vegetables, fruit cultivation, arable farming, and emerging agricultural industries.

Delphy’s strength lies in its dual approach:
– Knowledge Creation: Through our Research Centres, we develop practical, science-based insights tailored to real-world agricultural challenges.
– Knowledge Dissemination: We deliver this expertise through training, consultancy, and strategic partnerships, ensuring sustainable and profitable outcomes for our clients.

As a trusted partner in sustainable agriculture, Delphy is committed to innovation, collaboration, and long-term impact. Our integration with the Peterson Control Union Group enhances our global reach and enables us to co-create solutions that address the evolving needs of the agri-food sector.

The Role
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven International Business Development Manager to lead Delphy’s global expansion. You will be responsible for identifying new markets, building strategic partnerships, and scaling our international operations. This is a high-impact leadership role that combines business development, team management, and financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development:
  • Conduct thorough market assessments to identify new geographies, sectors, and service offerings that align with Delphy’s strengths. Customize go-to-market strategies for each country, considering local trends, needs, and regulatory environments.
  • Develop and execute a clear, actionable international business development strategy that aligns with Delphy’s vision and long-term goals. Prioritize target markets and services with the highest potential for scalable impact.
  • Leverage and expand the strategic relationship with the Peterson Control Union Group (PCU Group) to unlock new opportunities, co-create solutions, and enter emerging markets. Identify and establish new partnerships with industry players, governmental organizations, and NGOs.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of business opportunities.
Sales and Revenue Growth:
  • Drive sales growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, targeting these, and being very result-oriented in getting new assignments signed and executed.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Partnership and Relationship Building:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key partners, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and finalize business deals and partnerships.
  • Drive client acquisition through consultative selling, compelling value propositions, and tailored service offerings.

Brand Promotion:
  • Promote the company’s brand and products in international markets. Create networks of potential clients.
  • Represent Delphy at key international conferences, industry forums, and networking events. Position the company as a thought leader and reliable partner in sustainable agricultural and horticultural consultancy.
Team Management and Development:
  • Lead and expand Delphy’s international footprint through the creation and support of local teams.
  • Establish and support locally embedded teams that reflect Delphy’s entrepreneurial culture. Encourage autonomy and local ownership, while ensuring consistency with global standards and practices.
  • Guide, mentor, and support global team members to achieve operational excellence.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of international teams, ensuring project delivery, service quality, and client satisfaction. Develop and implement efficient workflows, processes, and communication structures across time zones and cultures.
  • Set and monitor performance goals for teams, linking individual objectives to strategic outcomes. Use data-driven insights to identify strengths, address gaps, and continuously improve team productivity and morale.
  • Promote collaboration across countries and departments by fostering mutual understanding and shared learning. Leverage cultural diversity as a strength, creating a cohesive and globally connected team environment.
  • Create a positive and supportive work environment that promotes employee engagement, well-being, and retention. Actively listen to team feedback and take proactive steps to address challenges.
Financial Management
  • Develop and manage budgets across countries in collaboration with local teams.
  • Establish, track, and analyse key financial metrics and KPIs (e.g. revenue growth, operating margins, ROI) for each country. Implement a consistent reporting structure to monitor progress and flag underperformance early.
  • Own and oversee the full profit and loss performance of international units. Work closely with finance and operations to interpret results, identify areas of inefficiency, and implement corrective measures.
  • Conduct financial forecasting and scenario planning to anticipate market shifts and inform strategic decisions. Utilize both quantitative data and market intelligence to develop accurate, actionable forecasts.
  • Evaluate potential investments, partnerships, or new service lines from a financial perspective. Provide input on resource allocation decisions, balancing short-term performance with long-term sustainability.
