We are looking for an enthusiastic Legal Expert with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in business banking. In short, you will advise and support the ING Business Banking department within ING Netherlands on transactions, day-to-day legal questions and the development of new products and new initiatives. Your work may also include monitoring relevant legal developments and supporting legal proceedings in court and at Kifid (Dutch Institute for Financial Disputes).
The team
As a Legal Expert, you are part of ING Legal Netherlands (Legal NL). Legal NL advises on many different product areas, such as payments, mortgages, consumer loans, business lending, private banking, restructuring and investments. Other areas of focus within Legal NL include anti-money laundering, fraud, privacy, ESG and digitalisation. Legal NL is part of a network of more than 500 ING lawyers working across the globe which allows us to share expertise, best practices, relevant developments in case law and more.
Legal NL is an inspiring working environment in the middle of the continuously changing world of ING. You will be part of the Chapter Business- and Private Banking, one of the four Chapters within Legal NL. This Chapter has business banking (for example sales, lending and real estate financing), restructuring, private banking and investments as its key focus areas. We are looking for a Legal Expert with a focus on business banking. You act as a 'spider in the web’ when it comes to working with the business departments that rapidly change our customer journeys and make them more digital, sustainable and customer friendly. Roles and responsibilities
You will advise and support our internal clients within ING Netherlands with focus on business banking (sales and lending).
You will be part of the (parp-)process of (new) products and new initiatives, e.g. (sustainable-) loans.
Your work includes monitoring relevant legal developments, implementing new laws and regulations into ING policies.
You will advise on transactions and answer day-to-day legal questions.
You will create and maintain standard documentation, e.g. loan- and collateral documentation.
You will handle client complaints and advise on or support legal proceedings in court and at Kifid (Dutch Institute for Financial Disputes).
You will also work together with colleagues from the ING Netherlands Risk organisation to identify, assess, and manage the non-financial risks for ING.

You have a Dutch University degree in Law.
You are proficient in Dutch and English (both in writing and verbally).
You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience within a financial institution, a supervisor/regulator and/or a law firm.
You have a demonstrable affinity with financial law and banking.
You are proactive, enthusiastic, customer-oriented, pragmatic, flexible, analytical, and a real team player.
