In this role, you will lead the operational activities of our Internal Audit teams in The Netherlands and South Africa, while also actively participating in a variety of (IT) audit engagements. You’ll have the opportunity to travel internationally (15–20%) and work across multiple locations worldwide. As the designated delegate for the Director of Internal Audit, you will play a key role in driving the department’s success and continuous improvement.
Your Role
- Shape and contribute to the department’s strategic direction and lead initiatives that drive innovation and improvement;
- Manage and execute international audit engagements across business processes, projects, and reporting;
- Take the lead on IT audits and strategic IT programs, representing Internal Audit in senior management meetings and steering committees;
- Supervise and support Internal Audit teams in The Netherlands and South Africa, ensuring effective and efficient operations;
- Ensure timely, high-quality execution of audits, including risk assessments and clear, insightful reporting;
- Act as a trusted advisor to local, regional, and corporate management;
- Coordinate operational planning and logistics for the audit team;
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance audit efficiency and impact;
- Expand your professional skills and network to prepare for future leadership opportunities.
Your track record
- A Master’s degree in IT, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration (CISA or RE certification is a plus);
- 8+ years of relevant experience in internal auditing;
- Solid knowledge of Internal Audit standards; CIA certification or willingness to obtain it;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally (15–20%).
