About the role
The International Baccalaureate (IB) is committed to supporting the ongoing development of a worldwide professional learning community comprised of internationally minded teachers, school leaders and administrators. Professional learning plays a key role in the organization’s mission. The Professional Learning department offer a comprehensive range of events and products, designed to help teachers and schools to better understand and deliver the IB programmes, create and exchange valuable ideas on international education within a strong IB community, and to identify best practices for the ways we educate students.
The Associate Manager, Professional Learning Delivery, is a new role designed to create capacity to deliver webinars to the IB (and non-IB) community as a requested product and to manage increased demand for professional learning associated with the IB’s GDS strategy. The role will be Online PDD’s system lead for video conferencing tools and will coordinate the multiple pilots that involve Online PDD.
This role will report to the Online PD Delivery Manager and will collaborate closely with the IB Exchange team, who have already established a market for specific, concise professional learning opportunities such as webinars. The Associate Manager will coordinate these events and closely monitor demand. Popular webinars will be made available as requested products, with tasks such as liaising with the requestor and contracting the presenter being managed by this role. The Associate Manager is the Online PDD lead for the department’s video conferencing platform (Zoom) through vendor management and by ensuring that online learning technologies are used to their full potential. They collaborate with other colleagues in the Professional Learning team to manage content.
- Coordinate the delivery of synchronous events (webinars) for the IB and non-IB community. This will be done in collaboration with the IB Exchange team as well as other internal stakeholders e.g. IBEN, IBWS etc..
- Track webinar demand and lead the transformation ofthe most popular topics into requested products.
- Through collaboration with marketing, ensure scheduled and requested webinars meet enrolment and engagement targets.
- In collaboration with marketing and the IB Exchange team, ensure that all communication and social posts are delivered on time, to support enrollment and engagement targets.
- Report out monthly on webinar registration, attendance and other engagement metrics, maintining any reporting dashboards for transparent team use.
- Responsible for coordinating the delivery of online workshops when there are surges in demand for professional learning generated by the groups, districts and systems model of increasing access to the IB.
- Manage contractors for projects related to groups, districts and systems as required, ensuring that adequate contracts are in place, that tasks are fully executed, and all SLAs are met.
- Responsible for Online PD pilots , contribute to their evaluation and advise related to potential scalability.
- Serve as Online PD’s video conferencing expert and point of contact with the vendors.
- In collaboration with colleagues in the IB Exchange team and the OLPD, create, maintain and enforce global system guidelines for the video conferencing platform to ensure optimal performance, optimal user experience and GDPR compliance.
- Responsible for staying up to date with advances in technology that could improve the delivery of synchronous events and leading projects to make video conferencing improvements.
- Research and remain up to date with developments in technology to plan for future technological needs and incorporate them within PL delivery.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders within the PL department and other directorates of the IB e.g. Business Development, Authorization, about the delivery of synchronous PD products and the demand resulting from GDS agreements.
- Ability to problem solve for minor technical issues.
- Responsible for escalating major technical issues.
- Ability to suggest third party vendor management solutions that impact business process.
- Experience in and passion for video conferencing systems to influence decisions on delivery strategy.
- Decisions related to the management of temporary external contractors.
- Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent experience.
- Experience with LMS and online learning required.
- Experience with EMS and CRM preferred.
- Excellent English oral and written skills. Fluency in Spanish/French desirable.
- Experience of training colleagues and stakeholders.
- Experience of vendor management.
- Demonstrable professional experience in an education environment.
- Demonstrable experience in online processes.
- Understanding of the international education sector/IB an asset.
