Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to join our team in Rotterdam. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing vessel port calls, coordinating container logistics, and ensuring seamless communication between vessels, authorities, suppliers, and internal departments. This is a hands-on position that requires strong coordination skills, technical interest, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced maritime environment.
Key Responsibilities
Vessel Operations
- Attend vessels during port calls when necessary.
- Maintain daily communication with vessels, port authorities, terminals, and maritime suppliers.
- Ensure timely coordination and delivery of supplies on board vessels in Rotterdam.
- Arrange crew changes in collaboration with crewing agents.
- Accurately process and maintain data in terminal, port, and customs systems.
- Enter and manage port call data in internal systems.
- Prepare discharge and load lists to optimize vessel utilization.
- Resolve discrepancies in loading lists with Customer Service and terminal personnel.
- Take part in an on-call duty rotation (evenings, nights, weekends).
- Collaborate closely with internal departments such as Customer Service and Equipment Control.
- Check and report IMDG (hazardous) cargo in accordance with regulations.
Container Control
- Monitor container movements across depots and terminals.
- Track and manage empty container stock and idle units in Rotterdam.
- Arrange cost-efficient transportation for empty containers (truck/barge).
- Maintain contact with equipment suppliers, including leasing companies and shipping lines.
- Create and manage container data in the Samskip booking system.

Qualifications:
- Strong ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proactive, with a solution-oriented mindset and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
- Interest in technical operations or a technical background is a plus.
