Position
At the European Corporate head office in Amsterdam the new position has arisen for an EMEA Senior Manager Tax Accounting and Reporting. You will work closely with the EMEA and global Tax teams on all corporate income tax accounting matters for PPG EMEA. By working cohesively with other financial groups, you will handle the development of CIT rates, assist with tax accounting of CIT matters and aid in all aspects of accurate tax accounting for all items relating to tax reporting in multiple countries.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and/or review of the quarterly and annual global tax reporting, deferred tax assets and liabilities, valuation allowance, footnotes and disclosures.
Work with regional effective tax rate (ETR) preparers and regional and corporate planning groups to ensure accuracy of the forecasted ETR and cash tax model.
Perform oversight and administration of OneSource Tax Provision Software including identification and implementation of opportunities for process improvements and technology solutions.
Provide tax accounting support and ongoing training to all regional ETR Preparers.
Review journal entries to appropriately reflect income tax expense, uncertain tax positions, deferred tax positions, and other related income tax matters.
Stay ahead of regulatory tax law changes and update tax accounting accordingly and promote and implement process improvements for the related accounting practices.
Drive accurate accounting and documentation of return to provision adjustments.
Ensure compliance with SOX controls over the CIT tax accounting process.
Collaborate with PPGs external audit firm on quarterly reviews and year end audit requests on tax provision computations and SOX compliance.
Oversee ongoing maintenance and efficient use of Thomson Reuters OneSource Income Tax Provision, including implementation of process improvements.
Work closely with the other Directors & Managers – Tax to ensure proper income tax reporting as it relates to M&A as well as tax planning.
Candidate
A bachelor’s degree required with at least 8 plus years of tax accounting and tax reporting experience at a big 4 (or equivalent) advisory firm.
Experience working in a large multi-national publicly held company is an asset.
Experience with the tax accounting impact of complex tax transactions recommended.
Comprehensive understanding of the impact of taxes on the financial statements.
Professional experience with OneSource tax provision or other equivalent tax provision software highly recommended.
Previous experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle, and accounting consolidation tools such as HFM is strongly beneficial.
Ability to set up the and improve the tax accounting and reporting processes and ambition to developed further.
