This role is part of Robeco’s Global Legal Affairs team at the Rotterdam headquarters. The Rotterdam based team has 13 members and works with colleagues in Hong Kong, Zurich and New York as one integrated, global legal department. In Rotterdam, the team handles a wide range of legal matters, including
- Regulatory and Fund Support
- Business Legal Support (e.g., global client onboarding, trading, and derivatives support) and
- Strategic Legal Support (e.g., advising the Board, strategic projects, M&A processes).
Position & Requirements
Position
You will report to the Head of Regulatory Affairs and Legal Fund Support. You will provide proactive legal support for Robeco's fund management activities, including developing, managing, and distributing investment funds, including:
- Contribute to setting up, maintaining and modifying Dutch, Luxembourg and Irish investment fund structures.
- Review and comment on legal fund documentation, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. law firms) and regulators (AFM, CBI and CSSF) to uphold Robeco's high standards.
- Manage client relationships effectively, both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with various 1st and 2d line departments across Robeco in a fast-paced, business-oriented environment.
Requirements
- Relevant experience (at least 3 years) gained in a law firm or in-house within an asset manager or other financial institution.
- Proficient knowledge of the laws and regulations affecting the funds and the asset management sector, in particular UCITS and AIFs and company law.
- Proactive team player skilled at prioritizing tasks, managing multiple projects with attention to detail, and effectively communicating to build relationships with patience, sensitivity, and empathy.
- Proficiency in English, an international perspective, and advanced drafting skills.
- A Master’s degree in Law from a University in the European Union or the United Kingdom.
- Ability to effectively integrate AI (e.g. Co-Pilot) into your work is a plus.
