To support this, we are establishing our first dedicated Purchasing Department and seeking a capable, proactive individual to lead the way.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead the purchasing function from the ground up. As our first in-house Purchaser, you will be responsible for managing the full procurement process — from sourcing and supplier relations to shipment consolidation, customs handling, and internal coordination.
We are seeking someone who is highly organized, commercially minded, and capable of implementing structure in a growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and develop a reliable supplier base (with emphasis on competitive Asian & Europe markets).
- Order Fulfillment: Oversee full-cycle procurement of goods — from technical stock to routine office supplies — ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Shipment Consolidation: Combine multi-vendor purchases into container shipments to optimize cost and logistics.
- Customs and Compliance: Coordinate with logistics partners and customs authorities to ensure smooth import operations and regulatory compliance.
- CRM and Reporting: Utilize our internal systems to track purchase orders, maintain documentation, and provide procurement insights.
- Process Development: Define and implement internal purchasing procedures as part of the new department’s foundation.
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with sales, inventory, and operations teams to align purchasing with operational needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the marine, industrial, or logistics sectors.
- Strong familiarity with international sourcing, especially from China, and knowledge of container shipping and customs processes.
- Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of processes.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational discipline.
- Proficient in English; Dutch, Chinese, or Turkish is an asset.
- Must hold an EU working permit. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
