The Position
As the Director of Business Strategy, you will play a pivotal and highly visible role in shaping the long-term growth and strategic direction of CK EMEA. You will be at the forefront of identifying high-impact business opportunities, leveraging deep market insights, and conducting thorough analysis to inform senior leadership’s decisions. Your work will directly enable evidence-based decision-making, ensuring the organization remains agile and responsive to emerging trends and market shifts. In this capacity, you will lead the development of actionable strategic roadmaps, prioritizing initiatives that align with the broader goals of CK EMEA and drive innovation to address complex business challenges. You will work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including cross-functional teams within CK EMEA, Hub counterparts, the Global Brand Strategy & Go-to-Market team, and key global stakeholders. Your ability to connect the dots between regional and global strategies will be essential in ensuring alignment and driving the successful execution of strategic initiatives. You will also play a critical role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that all teams are empowered with the tools and insights needed to meet their objectives.
This is a highly strategic role where your ability to think both analytically and creatively will be key in navigating complex challenges and identifying opportunities for growth. Your leadership will be integral to achieving the CK EMEA organization’s objectives, driving business performance, and contributing to the overall success and future growth of the CK brand on a global scale. Your work will be central to the ongoing success and evolution of CK EMEA, and you will have a significant impact on shaping the future of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify business opportunities: identify and analyze potential business opportunities through market research to assess the viability of new business avenues and innovative solutions that could drive company growth. Proactively scout for ways to expand market share, increase competitive advantage, and capitalize on industry changes, ensuring the company remains ahead of competitors and positioned for sustainable success.
Develop strategic initiatives: Develop strategic initiatives that support the company’s vision and mission, focusing on scalable, high-impact opportunities.
Business case development: Lead the end-to-end process of creating comprehensive business cases for new projects, investments, and strategic initiatives. This includes conducting in-depth analysis, assessing market dynamics, and evaluating the potential risks and rewards of each opportunity. Work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to ensure that business cases align with the company’s strategic objectives, financial goals, and risk appetite. Clearly define the business rationale, expected outcomes, and key performance indicators for each initiative. Present well-structured business cases to senior leadership and decision-making bodies, providing the data and insights necessary to gain approval and secure resources for successful execution.
Conduct market research: Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to assess industry dynamics, competitor strategies, and potential threats or opportunities in the market.
Collaborate cross functionally: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and prioritize strategic initiatives, ensuring focus on high-impact, feasible projects that align with the company’s long-term objectives. Work closely with teams to define business challenges and innovative solutions.
Conduct strategic planning: Develop and maintain long-term strategic plans and detailed roadmaps to guide the execution of key initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational capacity
Develop strategic recommendations: Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership, offering insights and data to help navigate business challenges, identify opportunities, and support key decision-making processes
Develop business strategies: Lead efforts to develop comprehensive business strategies, facilitating high-level problem-solving sessions, and creating actionable solutions to address both immediate and long-term business needs
Ideal Candidate:
10+ years of experience in business strategy within a fashion, retail, or consumer goods environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders effectively, ensuring buy-in and support for key initiatives.
Strong results-driven mindset, with the ability to balance short-term commercial needs with long-term strategic planning.
Very strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making, leveraging insights to make strategic recommendations
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, collaborating effectively with CK EMEA, Hub teams and Global teams
Strong leadership experience, with a track record of developing, mentoring, and inspiring high-performing teams for 5+ years
Problem solving: advanced understanding of how to solve complex problems and critically assess the solutions required
Strong expertise in market research, competitive analysis, initiative development and implementation
Highly adaptable and proactive, thriving in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
