Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an accomplished and strategically oriented Investment Intelligence Lead to lead the advancement of our research and analytics capabilities across all asset classes and business functions. This role is central to our ambition to harness data, technology, and institutional knowledge to drive sharper investment insights and more agile decision-making across public and private markets and our business functions.
Operating at the intersection of investment strategy, data science, and operational excellence, you will be responsible for building and scaling an intelligence function that supports idea generation, investment & risk analysis, and market monitoring across equities, fixed income, alternatives, real assets, and multi-asset portfolios. You will leverage emerging technologies - including AI, machine learning, and natural language processing - to enhance the scope, timeliness, and sophistication of our investment research.
A core focus will be the development and ongoing governance of a firm-wide knowledge management ecosystem. You will architect a centralized, structured platform that enables investment professionals to access and build upon prior research, market views, and investment theses with speed and precision - ensuring critical insights are retained, discoverable, and actionable at scale.
You will thrive in this role if you have deep market knowledge, strong technological curiosity, and the ability to communicate clearly across both technical and non-technical teams. Your work will directly support investment strategy, improve operational efficiency, and help shape the future of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
In this role you will report to Head of Operations & Technology in the Investment Office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Building and delivering solutions for the Investment Office, covering the full investment lifecycle - from sourcing, evaluation, and order management to portfolio construction, risk and exposure analytics, performance attribution and treasury management – and operational support. Focused on solving real user problems through iterative design, rapid prototyping, and close collaboration with investment, risk, operations and technology teams
- Lead the adoption and deployment of AI/ML tools (e.g., natural language processing, sentiment analysis, predictive modelling) to improve research efficiency and signal generation
- Evaluate third-party platforms and build use cases for AI applications in investment strategy and risk analysis
- Work with investment teams to develop proprietary views and frameworks across public and private markets
- Partner with data and technology (CPS) teams to embed intelligence capabilities into core investment workflows
- Design and oversee a centralized system for storing, tagging, and retrieving research, investment theses, and institutional knowledge
- Implement scalable document governance, version control, and search capabilities to ensure information integrity and accessibility
- Stay ahead of market trends in data, AI, and investment intelligence, bringing forward innovative ideas and technologies.
- Measure and report on the impact of intelligence initiatives, continuously refining approaches based on feedback and performance.
Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the Netherlands and willing to commute to our Amsterdam office.
- Master’s degree in Econometrics, Economics, Natural Sciences, Computer Sciences or a related field.
- CFA, CIPM or other relevant certifications are highly desirable or the willingness to obtain these
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an investment research, strategy, data intelligence, or related role within a multi-asset institutional environment
- Demonstrated leadership in AI, machine learning, or natural language processing (NLP) applications in financial analysis or research automation
- Strong background in document or knowledge management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Notion, enterprise search tools)
- Advanced skills in programming tools such as Python, SQL or similar
- Experience with AI/ML libraries and familiarity with large language models
- Excellent stakeholder management capabilities
- Sound business judgment, commercial-mindedness, and strategic thinking to serve as a trusted sounding board to business leadership
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic, complex environment and build effective relationships based on trust, integrity, consistency, and pragmatism
