Purpose of the Position
The Technician - Production Line is responsible for executing a range of repair and maintenance tasks on specific battery types in a production line environment. The role supports a key project by performing assigned tasks within a structured process, focusing on efficiency and precision. Responsibilities rotate regularly, allowing flexibility in task assignments to develop skills and adapt to project needs. This role is essential in ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and productivity to meet client expectations.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities
- Performing Specific Repair and Maintenance Tasks:
- Conduct diverse tasks, from packing/unpacking and sorting to registering batteries, per instructions and daily targets.
- Carry out mechanical tasks, such as opening and closing battery casings, preparing batteries for repair, and performing assembly or disassembly of components.
- Execute advanced repairs, including replacing connectors, Battery Management Systems (BMS), or other components and operating specialised equipment like the Potting Compound machine.
- Following Technical Repair Protocols and Quality Standards:
- Adhere to repair protocols and quality standards rigorously, ensuring each battery is serviced in line with performance specifications.
- Ensure all work complies with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conducting Battery Testing and Diagnostics:
- Use diagnostic equipment to perform tests on batteries before and after repairs to assess performance and detect potential issues.
- Document findings accurately, compare results with standards, and communicate with supervisors or quality teams as needed.
- Documentation and Reporting for Repair Processes:
- Maintain precise records of all repair activities, component replacements, and test results in company systems or logbooks.
- Report unusual findings, recurring defects, or process deviations to team leads or supervisors promptly.
- Safety and Hazard Management:
- Follow all safety protocols for handling hazardous materials, including wearing PPE and proper handling of batteries and electrical components.
- Actively participate in safety training, comply with safety protocols, and promptly report potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Collaborating within the Production Line Team:
- Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth hand-offs and continuity across shifts and repair stages.
- Contribute to team productivity and suggest process improvements to optimise workflow.
- Maintaining Tools and Work Area:
- Inspect and maintain tools and diagnostic equipment regularly for safe, efficient operation.
- Keep workspaces clean and organised, adhering to hazardous material protocols for safe handling and storage of batteries.
- Learning and Adaptability for Evolving Repair Tasks:
- Engage in training to stay updated on repair techniques, battery technologies, and tool use.
- Adapt to new tasks as needed, taking on various roles within the production line as skills and project demands evolve.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- No formal education required; however, experience in production lines, mechanical or electrical repairs, and tool handling is highly recommended.
Skills:
- Basic English language proficiency for clear communication.
- Strong teamwork and adaptability, with a positive attitude towards task rotation.
- Handy and familiarity with mechanical/electrical tools.
- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry batteries (3-5 kg).

Employment Conditions
- Working Hours: Full-time (38-40 hours per week), Monday - Friday.
