At Kuehne+Nagel, we are looking for a talented and highly motivated Sales Manager to lead the commercial team within the Road Logistics business unit in the Netherlands.
As Sales Manager, you will be commercially responsible for the results and success of the Dutch Road Logistics operations at our locations in Doesburg, Moerdijk, and Nieuw-Amsterdam. The Dutch Road organization is part of K+N Road Benelux and provides road transport services to our customers with approximately 60 domestic and 20 international trucks. With 150 drivers, K+N offers Groupage, LTL and FTL, Intermodal, Transport Management, and Customs Services.
You will be part of a driven sales team who is passionate about helping our customers and advising and selling our services and solutions. You will be responsible for the sales performance of the Road Logistics business unit, the leadership of your team, and the revenue and cost management to ensure excellent customer service and the acquisition of new clients. The Sales Manager reports directly to the National Road Logistics Manager Netherlands. This is a full-time position based in Doesburg, where you are expected to be regularly present each week.

- Develop and steer a strategic sales plan for Road Logistics, regularly monitoring progress to ensure successful execution.
- Drive business development for Road Logistics in Moerdijk, Doesburg, and Nieuw-Amsterdam, focusing on international groupage, LTL, FTL, and MedTech services, in close collaboration with your team.
- Coach and empower your team to reach their full potential by providing strategic and tactical guidance, accelerating growth through the KN portfolio.
- Exceed quarterly and annual targets by managing a healthy pipeline, delivering accurate forecasts, and creatively approaching new business development.
- Support pricing negotiations and contract closings; analyze business needs of existing accounts and new leads, identify growth opportunities, conduct ROI assessments, and clearly communicate our value proposition throughout the sales cycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key SME and strategic clients, including decision-makers and stakeholders, while leveraging market dynamics to support business acceleration.
- Collaborate closely with operational teams and departments such as Contracts & Pricing, Compliance, Customer Service, and Accounting to ensure a smooth order-to-cash process and deliver exceptional service. Offer Road Logistics solutions that enhance the sales process, support tender management, and result in new business wins and a positive customer experience.
Wat we graag willen dat je meebrengt
- Bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leading sales role within a logistics environment—preferably in Road Logistics—combined with a proven track record of delivering exceptional results in sales, customer service, and operations.
- Possess a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent through relevant experience in the road transport sector.
- Excel in stakeholder management, connecting effectively with diverse teams at both Benelux and global levels to drive alignment and collaboration.
- Demonstrate strong leadership in building and guiding commercially driven teams, with at least 5 years of successful experience managing sales professionals.
- Lead a diverse team of junior, medior, and senior professionals by adapting your leadership style—providing direction, coaching, and monitoring tailored to individual needs.
- Showcase strong negotiation and influencing skills, with a personality that inspires, motivates, and drives team performance.
- Proven ability to expand sales regions and develop high-performing teams through strategic and conceptual thinking, operating confidently at both national and international levels.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English and Dutch, with a valid driver’s license and the ability to build and execute strategic sales plans that deliver measurable results.
